Information about the rate of workers returning to work at many factories right after the Tet holiday reaching over 80% - and even higher for many textile and garment enterprises - shows the excitement and urgency in the production cycle at the beginning of the new year.
Not only did they return early, workers in industrial parks across the country were also excited to receive bright red "lucky money" envelopes, as an "order" for a promising 2025.
The "red dots" appearing in company workshops, in factory corridors, or in the canteen during breaks are strong signals that the industrial economy is welcoming a new breath of life right from the first days of the year.
It is noteworthy that many enterprises in the industrial sector - especially textile and garment - have maintained operations "throughout Tet" to meet the order schedule for the first quarter of 2025, while ensuring that the supply chain is not disrupted. This reflects that market demand is at a positive level.
2025 is a year of special significance. This is both a year of acceleration and breakthrough, and a year of "finishing" for the 5-year journey of 2021-2025, requiring all sectors and fields to concentrate their efforts to complete the goal. In the industrial sector, the Government has assigned the Ministry of Industry and Trade to strive for an increase of 9-10% in the industrial production index (IIP) this year.
The "red lucky money" on the first working day of the year therefore not only has the meaning of psychological encouragement, but also symbolizes the hope for a prosperous year, along with the spirit of being ready to rise strongly.
More importantly, the efforts of enterprises in maintaining production during Tet and welcoming workers back early not only affirm their initiative, but also show a clear mark of the Trade Union in protecting the legitimate rights of workers.
In particular, the gifts, buses, trains, and planes taking workers home to celebrate Tet and return to work in the first days of the year prove that the Trade Union has played a core role in taking care of its workers.
It is this solidarity that strengthens workers' trust in the working environment, making them stay long-term. It is easy to see that when workers are assured of their income and living conditions, businesses are assured of their production resources, and the recovery or breakthrough process after Tet is shortened to the maximum.
When workers are satisfied and motivated, they will produce higher quality products and productivity; this is a win-win for both businesses, the economy and the trade union.
