Unusual muzzles
The North has entered winter but the weather is unseasonal, the humidity is over 80%, causing the floor and walls to "sweat", and clothes to not dry.
According to meteorological experts, the phenomenon of humid mud usually only appears from February to April, after the Lunar New Year. Normally, the end of the fall and early spring in the North will be dry and sunny, with a humidity of less than 50%, but this year, the humidity is over 80%.
The cause was determined to be a weakening and shifting cold air mass to the east, combined with the southeast wind bringing moisture from the sea to the mainland, making the air moist.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from November 11, the rain will gradually decrease, and the humidity will tend to end. By November 12", the cold air will strengthen weakly, then become stronger at 16 17,11, helping the North return to a dry state, cold at night and in the morning.
Rapid increase in influenza A cases, mostly in young children
Currently, the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases is treating nearly 50 patients with influenza A. The number of outpatient examinations and treatments related to influenza A has increased rapidly in the past few weeks, most of whom are children. Doctors said that the changing seasons are a favorable factor that causes the influenza virus to spread strongly in the community.
Patient T.T.H (16 months old, Hanoi) was diagnosed with influenza A with bronchitis - congestion of lungs. Three days before being admitted to the hospital, the child had a high fever, a dry cough, a runny nose, then developed a wheezing and a cough with thick phlegm. When admitted to the hospital, the child was tired, had poor cough, and had many dampenings and throbbing on both sides.
Test results show that the child is positive for influenza A. If not detected and treated early, the disease can progress rapidly to acute respiratory failure or sepsis. After two days of active treatment, the child improved, fever decreased, and feeding returned but was still closely monitored.

Another case was patient H.L (10 years old) admitted to the hospital with a high fever of 39.5°C, a lot of coughing, vomiting more than 10 times/day, sometimes vomiting blood, fatigue, and inability to eat or drink. Children show signs of body fatigue and headaches - typical signs of influenza A. The examination results determined that the disease had no complications, but it needed to be treated and closely monitored to avoid becoming more severe.
MSc. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Dung, Department of Pediatrics - Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases, said: Influenza A is an acute respiratory infectious disease that can occur at any age, but young children, the elderly or people with underlying diseases are at high risk because the immune system is weak. The early stages of influenza A are often similar to other respiratory viruses, but the disease can progress rapidly, causing pneumonia, respiratory failure or sepsis if not detected and treated promptly.
According to Dr. Dung, children with influenza A often have a high fever, a gradual increase in cough, runny nose, fatigue, and crying; for older children and adults, pain and fatigue symptoms are often more obvious. Children may vomit, diarrhea, or even convulsions due to high fever. If you see your baby hesitant, stopping feeding, breathing quickly or withdrawing chest laxatives, you should take him to the doctor immediately because it is a warning sign of serious complications.
Doctor Dung recommends that parents should not arbitrarily use medicine, especially antibiotics, but should take their children to the doctor early when there are signs of illness and fever to be diagnosed correctly and treated promptly. The changing seasons with erratic temperatures are ideal conditions for the A influenza virus to spread strongly. Annual influenza vaccination is the most effective measure to protect health, especially for young children, the elderly, pregnant women and people with underlying diseases.
Elderly people face many health risks in cold weather
When the temperature drops, the elderly are the group most severely affected due to reduced resistance and poor body temperature regulation.
According to Dr. Vu Minh Dien, Deputy Head of the General Internal Medicine Department, Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases, when it is cold, the elderly are susceptible to pneumonia, high blood pressure, heart attack, stroke. Cold air causes blood vessels to constrict, blood pressure to increase, and a weak cough reflex, making it easy for respiratory infections to occur. In addition, painful bone and joint diseases, cramps, and the risk of falls and hypothermia also increase.
