The current Law on Cultural Heritage stipulates that “The museum system includes public museums and non-public museums”. That is, the law recognizes the model of non-public museums - private museums.

The Law on Cultural Heritage (amended) being discussed at the National Assembly has many new points, including emphasizing the rights and responsibilities of the community towards cultural heritage. However, many opinions say that the law needs to have regulations so that the non-public museum system (private museums) can contribute more to the preservation and promotion of heritage values and tourism promotion.
