According to AP, Ms. Michelle Obama, wife of former US President Barack Obama, will launch a children's food program on Netflix to " bring a little light and laughter to homes around the world".
The new program, called Waffles + Mochi, will launch on March 16, and will be a series of short films broadcast periodically with a duration of 20 minutes per episode. The show will feature former First Lady Obama and two special characters, two puppets.
On her Instagram page on February 8, Ms. Michelle Obama introduced the show: 'All about delicious dishes: Explore, cook and of course eat''.
According to the press release, the program will focus on two close puppets who dream of becoming chefs and travel around the world to find ingredients and prepare dishes "with famous chefs, home chefs, children and celebrities".
Children will enjoy the show, but I know adults will also enjoy a refreshing laugh with some tips in the kitchen, Obama said.
She also confided, "In many ways, this program is an extension of my work to support children's health as First Lady - and honestly, I have wished for such a program since my daughters were young."
The show is produced by Higher Ground Productions - a production company owned by Mrs. Michelle Obama and her husband, former President Barack Obama. In 2018, Trump's family signed a multi-year deal with Netflix. Ms. Michelle Obama also released the documentary Becoming on Netflix and hosted the program The Michelle Obama Podcast on Spotify.
