The video recorded the deprivation of weapons from the Storm Shadow long-range missile given to Ukraine by the West after being shot down by Russian air defense forces.
The UK and France have provided dozens of cruise missiles - known as Storm Shadow in the UK and SCALP in France - to Ukraine for use in the conflict with Russia.
On March 29, RIA Novosti released a video showing one of the shells being dismantled by a Russian military technician. The video shows some of the main components of the missile being shot down, including the missile's engine.
However, some details were overlooked in the video and the identity of the weapons dismantling technician was not disclosed.
According to RIA Novosti, this person is said to be a member of the group of missile engineering experts. They research Western weapons and develop processes for how to safely deactivate them. These instructions were then shared with other weapons handling units.
In the case of Storm Shadow missiles, the study also has the added benefit of providing the Russian military with an insider into how to deal with them better.
The missiles are constantly being improved, but the air defense is also getting more and more professional because we can study certain departments and algorithms in their work, the expert explained.
According to RIA Novosti, the Storm Shadow missile in the video may have had problems due to Russia's electronic countermeasures. The film also shows the missile arrow, detonator and other parts.
