Train stations and airports across China recorded peak passenger traffic on January 25, just ahead of the Lunar New Year 2025, AFP reported.
At Beijing West Railway Station, AFP reporters witnessed thousands of passengers dragging suitcases through the corridors to board trains, many wearing thick coats and masks to avoid the risk of infection.
According to Xinhua News Agency, during the 40-day Spring Festival travel period, including the days before and after the Lunar New Year holiday, there are expected to be 9 billion inter-provincial trips by all forms of transportation.

According to China's Ministry of Transport, there are expected to be 510 million train trips and 90 million flights during this period.
