The plane suddenly went up and down and "some people without seat belts were bounced up and hit the luggage compartment head, the header hit quite hard" - Fais Asad - another passenger shared with KHON.
A spokesperson for the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) told Canada's CBC that the incident occurred at an altitude cited by Canada's CBC TV as saying the incident occurred at an altitude of nearly 11,000m, about 966km southwest of Honolulu city.
The plane had an accident while carrying 269 passengers and 15 crew members.
