CNN reported that US President Joe Biden condemned the shooting at Donald Trump's campaign rally on the evening of July 13 and said: "There is no place in America for this type of violence."
“It's sick, that's one of the reasons we have to unite this country. We cannot allow this to happen. We cannot be like this, we cannot tolerate that,” President Joe Biden said from Delaware.
President Joe Biden emphasized that "everyone" must condemn the shooting.
“The bottom line is that Mr. Trump's rally could have taken place peacefully without any problems. Political violence or violence like this in America is unprecedented and inappropriate. Everyone needs to condemn," Mr. Biden said.
The President noted that authorities in the federal government are investigating the incident and providing him with the latest reports.
Mr. Biden said he had tried to contact Mr. Trump, saying the former President was with doctors and seemed to be fine.
An official of Mr. Biden's election campaign announced that the President's campaign "is pausing all external communications and trying to remove television advertising as soon as possible."
Earlier, President Joe Biden said: “I was briefed about the shooting . I am grateful to know that Donald Trump is safe and well. I pray for him, his family and for everyone present at the rally. Jill (first lady - reporter) and I are very grateful to the US Secret Service for bringing him to safety. There is no place for this type of violence in America. Our nation must unite and condemn this type of violence."
Mr. Biden almost did not appear at his home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware on July 13. The shooting occurred while Mr. Biden was attending Mass at St. Edmund.
US Vice President Kamala Harris said she had been briefed on the shooting.
“Doug (Mrs. Harris's husband - Reporter) and I feel relieved that he was not seriously injured. We are praying for him, his family and all those injured and affected by this senseless shooting," said Ms. Kamala Harris.
The US Vice President emphasized: "Violence like this has no place in our country. We must all condemn this heinous act and do our part to ensure that there is no more violence.”
Previously, CNN reported that Secret Service agents rushed former President Donald Trump off the stage after he fell to the ground amid loud explosions at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on the evening of July 13. Mr. Donald Trump was taken from the scene by security guards with blood on his face.
CNN quoted information from US law enforcement officials saying that the shooting is being investigated as a plot to assassinate Donald Trump .
