According to SCMP, large crowds gathered outside Licheng Medical Center in Jinhu District, Jiangsu Province on January 11.
In the video posted on social media, the officials were surrounded by angry crowds and shouted: "Hit him, beat him".
The incident comes after an official report confirmed that at least 145 children in Jinhu, aged 3 to 4 months, have been given the expired OPV vaccination.
CCTV reported that a total of 17 officials in Jinhu district have been investigated, dismissed or expelled from the Communist Party for the scandal.
The Jinhu scandal broke out at a time when the public was losing confidence in China's vaccination industry. In July last year, China's drug regulatory agency determined that Truong Xuan Truong Sinh Company - one of China's largest vaccine manufacturers, had produced 252,600 DPT vaccines that did not meet the standards for hundreds of thousands of newborns.
In November of the same year, Chinese lawmakers issued the first draft of the Law on Vaccine Administration, which allows people to sue drug manufacturers in cases of death or serious illness due to vaccines.
