Mr. Joe Biden is urging the National Assembly to quickly pass COVID-19 relief measures in the context of a new outbreak of the pandemic, according to a leading official in Mr. Joe Biden's transition team shared with Fox News.
The message came hours before Joe Biden and Kamala Harris met with Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi and Senate minority leader Chu Chu Schumer on November 20 at his transfer group headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware.
Ms. Nancy Pelosi is a California congresswoman while Mr. Schumer is a New York City driver, two top Democrats in the US Congress.
Former White House communications director under Trump Trump Trump Trump Trump Trump currently serving as Joe Biden's transition team leader told reporters that Biden, Harris, pelosi and Schumer "agreed with each other that emergency support and relief is needed" to help families and small businesses.
"There is no room for delays and we need to move forward as soon as possible," the leaders emphasized in the discussion.
Mr. Joe Biden also told US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate minority leader Chu Chu Schumer that "in my Oval Office, my office is also your office."
"I hope we will spend more time together," the Democratic presidential candidate in the 2020 US election shared. This was his first face-to-face meeting with Ms. Pelosi and Mr. Schumer since the presidential election.
Earlier, informing the press before the meeting, Ms. Pelosi said that she and Mr. Schumer would discuss with candidate Joe Biden about handling the virus and providing COVID-19 relief.
Monthly negotiations between Pelosi and Senate majority leader Donald McConnell in Kentucky have not reached a consensus on any aid package.
After the meeting in Wilmington, Joe Biden's transition team announced that the Democratic candidate shared with Ms. Pelosi and Mr. Schumer about his agenda for the first 100 days of his presidency, including proactive action to prevent COVID-19, providing resources for small businesses, families, schools, state and local governments to promote economic recovery and invest in the middle class.
