On the occasion of the Russian Navy Day, Mr. Putin said: "Today we honor the defenders of the country's maritime borders, the heroes of long-term marches, all those who have linked their lives with the fleet of ships and Submarines, the Navy, the Marines, those serving in the coast defense force, ensuring the combat readiness of units, and of course honoring the entire team of experts in designing and manufacturing new maritime techniques".
The Russian president said that the modern component of the Russian Navy includes ships equipped with high-precision weapons, strategic Submarine and multi-purpose Submarine patrols, the most advanced aircraft and flying equipment, and unique and special-tech weapons models.
Sputnik quoted the President as saying that the level of equipment of the Russian Navy has been constantly improved, specifically this year, 40 warships and ships of all kinds were accepted into the service squad.
The Russian Navy Day is celebrated across the North, Baltic, Pacific and Black Sea fleets in addition to the Caspianship fleet, but the highlight of the celebration is in St Petersburg - the cradle of the Russian Navy's tradition.
The main naval parade in St Petersburg mobilized 46 ships and warships, including the Kasatonov Admiral's Shipyard, the Admiral Kulakov Submarine Coastal Ship, large-sized landing ships and small-sized missiles, escort ships, launched subspace ships and many other naval vehicles.
The air force of the parade in St Petersburg includes 41 aviation equipment units, including Su-33, Su-27, MiG-29 attack fighter jets, Su-24 fighter jets, Tu-142, Il-38, grounding anti-submarine aircraft Tu-200 and Be-12, aircraft with radar and long-range detection of A-50, oil tanker Il-78 simulating the air fuel operation of the Su-30SM fighter jets, as well as Mi 8, Ka-31R, Ka-29 and Ka-27M helicopters.
In the sky of Moscow, dozens of Navy aircraft made a spectacular flight. Meanwhile, on land, more than 4,000 boatmen - wearing ceremonial uniforms - parade through Red Square, right in front of many spectators, including President Vladimir Putin.
