The tournament takes place at Tan Binh Gymnasium from August 12 to August 16, 2024. The tournament brings together 8 strong volleyball teams , including 1 foreign team, Visakha from Cambodia.
According to the draw results, Group A includes teams: Ho Chi Minh City Police, Vinh Long, Tra Vinh, Ben Tre. Group B includes teams: Ho Chi Minh City, Visakha, Long An and Binh Duong. Teams will compete in a round robin to select the 4 teams with the highest scores to advance to the semi-finals and finals.
The winning team of the tournament will receive a trophy, flag, Gold medal and a monetary reward of 60 million VND; The second prize team receives a flag, a Silver medal and a reward of 40 million VND; The two 3rd place teams will receive flags, bronze medals and a reward of 20 million VND. In addition, there are additional awards for the best individuals including: 2nd passer, assistant attacker, owner, opposing passer, libero and excellent referee team.
The tournament was organized to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the 79th anniversary of the People's Public Security Force's traditional day, and the 19th anniversary of the Festival of All People Protecting National Security.
Colonel Bui Ngoc Giap - Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department , Deputy Head of the tournament steering committee - said that the goal of the tournament is to create a playground for the movement, for teams to interact with each other. At the same time, the organizers also hope to create a meaningful annual playground.
