The women's team builds a new style of play
Before the 2024 VTV Cup, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet of the Vietnamese women's team highly appreciated the quality of the guest teams at this year's tournament. The coach born in 1976 affirmed that Vietnam will face many difficulties to defend the championship with famous guests from developed volleyball backgrounds.
However, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his students have had time to adapt and study their opponents with the quarter-final format, so he hopes the whole team will be in good form to try to defend their title. won this year's VTV Cup.
The head coach of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team emphasized that having an excellent player like Bich Tuyen in 2024 helps the team have another quality attack and newer options in the gameplay. But in the last 2 years, he has built strategies and pieces for the whole team so that each player can score points.
"Bich Tuyen has an individual playing style that she is used to from the club, which is different from the way the team was previously built. However, Bich Tuyen's training time with the team is too short when continuously participating in tournaments, so now , the whole team must return to adapt to Bich Tuyen's playing style to best utilize this player's abilities," said Mr. Nguyen Tuan Kiet.
Thanh Thuy has not gone to Türkiye yet
Currently, owner Tran Thi Thanh Thuy is still spending time with her family while waiting for a visa to go to Türkiye to compete. This is considered the longest time she has spent with her relatives since 2019 until now.
Although she has not yet gone to Türkiye, Thanh Thuy did not join the national women's team to participate in the 2024 VTV Cup but is preparing physically for a trip abroad to Europe to play for the Kuzeyboru club.
If nothing changes, it is expected that Thanh Thuy will only return to focus on the Vietnamese women's team around August 2025, which is 1 year from now.
Women's volleyball is running smoothly
Before the 2024 VTV Cup, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team won against the opponent from Japan - Aranmare in a practice match.
Facing an underrated opponent, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team created a superior position with high-quality attacks, especially passer Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen.
The striker from Vinh Long had an excellent match, worthy of being the captain and the number 1 hope of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team in the upcoming tournament. Besides, in the last match, Nguyen Tuan Kiet gave the opportunity to many players to test the formation and playing style, helping the students get the best ball feeling for the upcoming matches.
