SEA V.League may soon change its name
The Southeast Asian Volleyball Federation may move to change the name of the SEA V.League to the SEA V Cup.
This is one of the steps to calculate for the tournament to be professionalized like the cup system tournaments organized by Asian volleyball.
The predecessor of this tournament was called ASEAN Grand Prix. From 2023, the tournament was renamed SEA V.League and competed in the men's and women's categories with two stages.
The teams compete in a round-robin format at each stage to select the team with the best results to award the championship cup.
If the Southeast Asian Volleyball Federation approves the new name of the tournament, this year may be the last year the tournament is still named SEA V.League 2026. From 2027, the tournament may change to a new name.
