The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has just announced the termination of the contract with the CEO of the national team Rob Friend under a mutual agreement between the two parties. According to the announcement issued by FAM on June 18, the termination of Mr. Rob Friend's contract, full name Robert Douglas Friend, takes effect from June 1, 2026.

In addition, FAM also confirmed that the contract of Malaysian national team head coach Peter Cklamovski and two members of the national team coaching staff, Matthew Smith and Seiya Imazaki, was terminated on the basis of consensus between the parties. This decision takes effect from June 16, 2026.

In the statement, FAM said it respected the decisions made, and thanked individuals for their contributions, dedication and commitment during their time working with the Malaysian national teams.

The FAM acknowledges and appreciates their contributions to the development of national teams over the past time," the announcement stated.

The Football Federation of Malaysia also said it is implementing necessary steps to ensure continuity in the national team development plan, and soon complete the appointment of personnel to replace vacant positions.

The next information related to the operating apparatus and coaching staff of the Malaysian national teams will be updated by FAM in the near future.
