The contract of Mr. Lee Jung-soo and Lee Woon-jae is valid from March 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026.
Mr. Lee Jung-soo (born in 1980) will take on the role of assistant coach of the U23 team and the Vietnam national team. Mr. Lee Jung-soo holds an A coaching certificate from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and has many years of experience in top-level competition and coaching. In his playing career, Mr. Lee Jung-soo played for the Korean national team from 2008 to 2013, playing 54 matches, scoring 5 goals, including 2 important goals at the 2010 World Cup.

At club level, Mr. Lee Jung-soo won the 2011 AFC Champions League with Al-Sadd. After retiring, Mr. Lee Jung-soo switched to coaching, working as an assistant at Ho Chi Minh City Club, Suwon FC and Dongguk University.
Meanwhile, Mr. Lee Woon-jae (born in 1973) will continue to be associated with the Vietnam national team as a goalkeeper coach for the national team and the U23 national team. Mr. Lee Woon-jae holds an AFC goalkeeper coaching certificate at level 2 and an AFC coaching certificate.
In his illustrious career, Mr. Lee Woon-jae has participated in the World Cup four times (1994, 2002, 2006, 2010), contributing greatly to helping Korea reach the World Cup 2002 semi-finals.

At club level, Mr. Lee Woon-jae won 4 K.League championships with Suwon Samsung Bluewings. After retiring, Mr. Lee Woon-jae took on the position of goalkeeper coach at Suwon Samsung Bluewings, Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, U23 Korea before joining the Vietnam national team and contributing to the journey to win the 2024 ASEAN Cup.
Speaking at the ceremony, both assistants Lee Jung-soo and Lee Woon-jae expressed their honor to join the U23 coaching staff and the Vietnam national team. With their experience in competition and coaching, both promised to do their best to support head coach Kim Sang-sik, contributing to helping the Vietnamese team achieve good results in the coming time.
This addition is expected to bring positive changes, helping the Vietnam national team and U23 Vietnam best prepare for important tournaments, first of all the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers and the 33rd SEA Games.
