Hanoi Police Team banned by FIFA from registering new players

Hanoi Police Team has just received a penalty of banning the registration of new players in 3 consecutive transfer windows from FIFA.

According to information announced on September 16, the penalty takes effect from September 15. This causes Hanoi Police to face significant limitations in strengthening forces in the upcoming transfer windows.

With this penalty, Hanoi Police will not be allowed to register new players in 3 consecutive transfer windows, including the mid-season transfer window 2026-2027, early season 2027-2028 and mid-season 2027-2028, if the penalty does not change.

This is a noteworthy issue for Hanoi Police when the team is participating in many competitions in the 2026-2027 season. Coach Alexandre Polking's team is participating in the V.League, National Cup, ASEAN Club Championship and AFC Champions League Elite.

In the V.League, Hanoi Police has 6 points after 2 matches, with victories against Ha Tinh and The Cong Viettel. In the AFC Champions League Elite, the Police sector team just suffered a 1-4 defeat to Gamba Osaka of Japan in the opening match.

The ban on player registration may affect the personnel plan of Hanoi Police in the coming time, especially when the team has to play on many fronts. The inability to add new players also poses higher requirements in maintaining and using the existing force.

Currently, the specific reason why Hanoi Police received a penalty from FIFA has not been clearly informed. Therefore, it is not possible to fully determine the issues related to the case as well as the possibility of changing the penalty in the near future.

In the immediate future, Hanoi Police will continue to play against the current force. On September 20, the team will be guests at Binh Phuoc stadium in the framework of the V.League postponed match.

In this match, Hanoi Police did not have the service of Doan Van Hau because this player is serving a suspension.
