Nguyen Linh Chi (Information Corps)
Nguyen Linh Chi was born in 1990 and was the number 1 setter of the Information Corps women's volleyball team as well as the Vietnam national women's volleyball team from 2014 to 2021.
By 2022, the female athlete born in 1990 announced her retirement and switched to coaching. However, in the context that the Signal Corps women's team was having difficulties in the setter position, Linh Chi returned since the beginning of 2024.
Coming back after having a baby made Linh Chi face many difficulties, even somewhat self-conscious about her body shape and weight. However, she received support from her husband and family.
"Since returning to competition, there have been times when I've felt tired because of my expertise, weight, and young children, but thanks to the encouragement of the club and my family, I hope I can meet everyone's expectations.
During the day, my grandmother will look after my child while I practice with the team. I can only be with my child in the evening. For tournaments nearby, if I have time, my husband and grandmother will take my child to watch me and the team compete. This is a great source of encouragement for me to practice and contribute to the team with peace of mind," setter Linh Chi shared.
Nguyen Thi Xuan (Quang Ninh)
Striker Nguyen Thi Xuan is in the same generation as the golden generation of Vietnamese women's volleyball such as Kim Hue, Ngoc Hoa, Pham Thi Yen... Although her former teammates have moved on to coaching, the 1986-born hitter is still persistent in competing. She is a pillar of the Quang Ninh women's volleyball team in this year's national championship.
To be able to pursue her passion for volleyball, the striker from Nam Dinh received full support from her husband. Nguyen Thi Xuan said: "My husband is a solid supporter, helping me return to competition after giving birth and supporting all the family work.
Because he was an athlete, he understood the nature of my job. Even though we were my spouse, he often shared his expertise with me. In 2018, after giving birth to my baby for 9 months, I returned to playing volleyball.
Later, because I played away from home continuously, he sacrificed and returned home to take care of the family. He is currently an officer at the Procuracy in his hometown of Lam Dong. It can be said that my husband is the first motivation that helps me always try, make an effort and compete."
Bui Thi Bich Nga (LPB Ninh Binh)
Bui Thi Bich Nga is the main striker currently playing for the LPB Ninh Binh women's volleyball team. She is 1m72 tall, has a jump range of 2m85, and a block range of 2m65. Although she does not often appear in coach Thai Thanh Tung's team, Bich Nga always practices hard and is encouraged by her teammates in every match.
Outside the stadium, Bich Nga also has a happy and fulfilling married life. Her husband is Nguyen Duy Khanh - who used to play for the men's team The Cong and is currently a member of the coaching staff of the army team.
Duy Khanh was born in 1990, in the same generation as players like Pham Thai Hung, Hoang Van Phuong, Nguyen Xuan Thanh... Duy Khanh and Bich Nga got married in 2017. According to teammates at LPB Ninh Binh, main striker Bich Nga is loved and supported by her husband to pursue her passion for volleyball.
The couple Duy Khanh - Bich Nga is also considered one of the "golden" couples in Vietnamese volleyball along with other couples such as Tran Van Giap - Bui Thi Hue, Le Thai Binh - Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hoa...
