On September 21, the 7th Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Badminton Federation for the 2024 - 2029 term took place in Hanoi.
In terms of structure, the Executive Committee of the Badminton Federation for the 6th term (2018 - 2023) consists of 17 members, including 5 Standing Committee members. Mr. Le Dang Xu holds the position of Chairman with 3 Vice Chairmen and 1 General Secretary.
According to the report, in terms of expertise, from 2019 to August 2024, there will be 2 Olympics and 3 SEA Games. Athlete Nguyen Thuy Linh has excellently achieved an official spot at 2 Olympics (Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024) and Le Duc Phat will attend the 2024 Olympics.
In addition, Vietnamese badminton won 15 gold medals, 12 silver medals, and 11 bronze medals at international tournaments. Among them, tennis player Thuy Linh achieved many high achievements such as gold medals at the Belgian Challenge, Vietnam Series, Vietnam Challenge, and Vietnam Open...
Regarding competition organization, the Vietnam Badminton Federation maintains a system of 8-10 tournaments each year (amateur and high-achievement). All tournaments have prize money for athletes who achieve results.
In addition, the Federation also maintains and hosts international tournaments, creating position and prestige with the Asian and World Badminton Federation.
The Congress elected the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Badminton Federation for the 7th term (2024 - 2029).
Accordingly, Mr. Le Dang Xu was re-elected as President of the Vietnam Badminton Federation. In addition, the Executive Committee consists of 21 members, including 13 members of the old term and 8 members of the new term.
The 3 Vice Chairmen are Mr. Le Quy Don (Former Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee), Mr. Le Tan Dat (Former Principal of Da Nang University of Sports and Physical Education), and Mr. Nguyen Phuong Nam (Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ho Chi Minh City Robot Investment Joint Stock Company). Of which, Mr. Le Tan Dat is the permanent Vice Chairman.
Mr. Le Thanh Ha - Deputy Head of Division of High Performance Sports II - Department of Physical Education and Sports continues to be trusted for the position of General Secretary for the 7th term.
