According to Official Dispatch No. 86/BDQN from Quang Nam Club to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), the VFF Referee Board and Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF), in the 2024-2025 season, Quang Nam Club has suffered many systematic unfavorable comments from referees.
"In the match between Hong Linh Ha Tinh and Quang Nam clubs in round 4 of V.League 2024-2025 at Ha Tinh Stadium: In the 13th minute, Quang Nam player Vu Tien Long was hit by Hong Linh Ha Tinh player Noel Mbo, which was a direct red card, but the referee only showed a yellow card in this situation.
In the match between Binh Dinh and Quang Nam in round 7 at Quy Nhon Stadium: In the 77th minute, Quang Nam player Nguyen Van Trang, after passing the ball to his teammate, was tackled violently by Binh Dinh player Duong Van Khoa, causing Nguyen Van Trang to break the lower third of his right fibula, forcing him to wear a cast and receive treatment for over 3 months to recover. However, the referee only blew the whistle and did not give a card to player Duong Van Khoa in this situation.
Match between Quang Nam and Song Lam Nghe An in round 8 at Hoa Xuan stadium: In the 40th minute, striker Ngan Van Dai was tripped by goalkeeper Song Lam Nghe An in the penalty area. Referee Nguyen Manh Hai immediately blew the whistle for a penalty when striker Hoang Vu Samson was holding the ball only about 5m from the goal and had the ability to score. However, after reviewing VAR, Mr. Hai canceled the penalty, allowing Song Lam Nghe An to kick the ball up, thus depriving Samson of a clear scoring opportunity for Quang Nam. In fact, in this situation, the referee should have waited until the ball was completely in play before blowing the whistle and checking VAR," Quang Nam club listed.
Quang Nam said that although the above matches all used VAR technology, the referee team made wrong decisions, causing disadvantages for Quang Nam.
Quang Nam Club recommends that VFF, VFF Referee Board and VPF pay attention to proposing solutions to improve the quality of match management by referees at national professional football tournaments.
