Speaking to Lao Dong from Indonesia, head coach Nguyen Trong Linh said: Our young women's volleyball players are playing well at the 2025 U21 Women's World Youth Championship. We see that confidence helps them score accurately in situations.
As of August 9, the U21 Vietnam Volleyball Team has won 3 convincing victories against the U21 Indonesia, U21 Serbia and U21 Canada teams.
Coach Nguyen Trong Linh added: "We know that every team has good players, so the Vietnamese players focus on competing with a relaxed spirit, relieving the pressure to make memorable victories".
During the training process before going to Indonesia, Mr. Linh and the coaching staff predicted that opponents U21 Canada and U21 Serbia would cause difficulties for young Vietnamese players.
However, the Vietnam U21 Women's Volleyball Team convincingly defeated these two teams. The coaching staff believes that each victory is the effort of the team, but above all, the players follow the tactics set by the coaching staff.
Coach Nguyen Trong Linh said: "We continue to focus on the players in the next matches. The team has two more matches and the players will compete with the highest determination".
With 3 absolute wins, the Vietnam U21 Volleyball Team temporarily leads Group A with 9 absolute points. The team will also play U21 Argentina and U21 Puerto Rico in the following matches.
Vietnam's young women's volleyball team won a place in the 2025 U21 World Volleyball Championship after finishing 5th at the 2024 U20 Asian Women's Championship. This year's tournament brings together 24 participating teams and will last until August 17.
Coach Nguyen Trong Linh shared that after the wins, the team spirit is relaxed and is significantly encouraged and cheered by the audience present on the field.
Our goal is only to compete and accumulate professional competition. In fact, the young Vietnamese players played confidently, causing a surprise in Indonesia.
