Mr. Wasapon Kaewpaluk is a person with rich experience in Thai football. Before taking office at the national U17 team, he worked at many clubs such as Bangkok United, Port FC and Kanchanaburi FC.
At the national team level, Wasapon Kaewpaluk used to take on the role of interpreter and assistant under coaches Bryan Robson, Winfried Schafer and Mano Polking. Thanks to his long years of working in a professional football environment, he is considered to have an understanding of training and developing young players.
Notably, Wasapon Kaewpaluk once attracted attention at the 2022 AFF Cup when he was a language assistant for the Thai national team. After the first leg final between Vietnam and Thailand at My Dinh Stadium, he had actions and attitudes that caused controversy with the host media. The incident was later recorded by the Association of Southeast Asian Football (AFF) and issued a warning.
Currently, the Thai coach already holds the AFC Pro coaching certificate - the highest certificate of the Asian Football Confederation for professional coaches. FAT expects him to help U17 Thailand improve professional quality, towards the goal of competing for a place to participate in the AFC U17 Championship finals.
According to the plan, U17 Thailand will gather and prepare for the qualifying round of the 2027 AFC U17 Championship, expected to take place at the end of this year.
