Domestic pepper prices: Slight decrease in some provinces and cities
As of 11am today (March 19), domestic pepper prices turned down slightly, an average decrease of 300 VND/kg compared to the previous trading session. Currently, the purchase price ranges from 159,000 - 160,500 VND/kg. The average pepper purchase price nationwide is at 159,600 VND/kg.
The provinces and cities still maintain the same trading mark yesterday (March 18), except Dak Nong province, which decreased slightly by VND 500/kg, down to VND 160,500/kg. In the same direction, Dak Lak province also decreased in price by 1,000 VND/kg, setting the mark of 160,000 VND/kg.

World pepper prices: Reversed simultaneously
According to the International Pepper Community, on trading floors, black and white pepper prices in the Indonesian market increased and decreased alternately. Black pepper prices decreased by 0.32%, fluctuating around 7,298 USD/ton (equivalent to 187,632 VND/kg). At the same decrease, the price of white pepper was announced at 10,250 USD/ton (equivalent to 263,528 VND/kg).
For the Brazilian market, the price of ASTA 570 black pepper is still trading at 6,900 USD/ton.
In the Malaysian market, ASTA black and white pepper prices have remained unchanged for many days, anchored at 9,800 USD/ton and 12,300 USD/ton.
Notably, in Vietnam, exported black pepper prices continued to remain unchanged. The 500 g/l type is traded at 7,000 USD/ton (equivalent to 179,970 VND/kg); the 550 g/l type is currently at 7,200 USD/ton (equivalent to 185,112 VND/kg). Similarly, the price of white pepper for export is at 10,000 USD/ton (equivalent to 257,100 VND/kg).

In the Indian market, pepper prices remain unchanged in most pepper cultivars. Garbled pepper costs 67,200 rupees/kg, (equivalent to 205,505 VND/kg), Ungarbled is listed at 65.200 rupees/kg, while gram/liter has the lowest price of 64,200 rupees/kg (exchanged at 196,331 VND/kg).

Assessment and forecast
According to data from the General Department of Customs, Vietnam's pepper exports in February 2025 reached 14.3 thousand tons, worth 97.2 million USD, up 10.7% in volume and 11% in value compared to January 2025; increased by 7.2% in volume and 79.1% in value compared to February 2024.
In the first 2 months of 2024, Vietnam's pepper exports reached 27.2 thousand tons, worth 184.4 million USD, down 11.6% in volume but up 48.5% in value compared to the same period in 2024.
In terms of output, exports to the US market decreased by 32.5%; India decreased by 21.9%; The Netherlands decreased by 40.4%. On the contrary, the amount of pepper exported to some markets recorded a positive increase such as: Germany, Korea, UK... Despite fluctuations in output, the export value of Vietnamese pepper continues to increase strongly thanks to high prices and stable demand from international markets.
