Domestic pepper prices
As of 11:30 AM today (August 5th), domestic pepper prices continued to remain unchanged, listed at 139,000 VND/kg. Currently, key areas are trading in the range of 138,000 - 141,000 VND/kg.
Domestic pepper prices have been sideways for the 3rd consecutive day in all regions since the beginning of the week. Currently, provinces and cities list prices as follows:
Gia Lai, Dong Nai and City. Ho Chi Minh simultaneously listed it at 138,000 VND/kg.
Similarly, Dak Lak and Lam Dong respectively offered for sale at the highest purchase price in the whole region of 141,000 VND/kg and 140,000 VND/kg.
Although there have been no breakthrough increases, the current average domestic pepper price is still 4,800 VND/kg higher than the same period in June.
World pepper price
In the world market, pepper prices suddenly adjusted for Indonesian black and white pepper, trading in the range of 6,792 - 9,300 USD/ton (equivalent to 179,717 VND/kg - 246,078 VND/kg), respectively increasing by 32 USD/ton and decreasing by 17 USD/ton.
Meanwhile, the price of black pepper in Brazil sold to the market is 5,700 USD/ton (about 150,822 VND/kg). Notably, black and white pepper in Malaysia are still trading at high prices, respectively 12,200 USD/ton and 9,300 USD/ton.
In Vietnam's pepper export market, the price of black pepper of 500 g/l and 550 g/l remains unchanged at 5,970 - 6,050 USD/ton. ASTA white pepper is offered for sale at 8,350 USD/ton (equivalent to 220,941 VND/kg).
Assessments and forecasts
According to estimates, global pepper production in 2026 is about 462,000 tons, equivalent to the previous year. The 14% decrease in Vietnam is largely compensated by Brazil's production increasing by about 7%. Meanwhile, global consumption demand remains high, estimated at over 500 thousand tons, continuing to exceed annual output.
In the second quarter of 2026, geopolitical instability in the Middle East has affected global trade activities, causing world pepper prices to fluctuate in opposite directions. For example, the export price of black pepper from Vietnam and Brazil decreased by about 200 USD/ton compared to the previous quarter, while prices in Malaysia and Indonesia increased by 50 - 116 USD/ton.
