Records of Lao Dong Newspaper reporters show that at some gold, silver and gemstone business stores, people often stand outside the transaction area, proactively asking customers about their need to buy or sell gold and silver. Some cases offer prices higher than the purchase price listed at the store to persuade customers to trade directly.
Mr. Nguyen Anh (Cau Giay, Hanoi) said that once when he went to Bao Tin Minh Chau's gold store in Cau Giay to transact, he was surprised when he just arrived and 2-3 people approached to ask about the need to buy or sell gold.
At that time, I was quite surprised because someone approached before I could enter the store. I did not agree to transact outside because I did not know who these people were, what the gold source was and whether the transaction was guaranteed or not" - Mr. Nguyen Anh shared.
With valuable assets such as gold, customers need to transact at official business units, with clear invoices and documents to protect their rights. Being constantly approached by strangers right in front of the store makes customers feel uncomfortable and insecure when transacting.
Not only appearing at Bao Tin Minh Chau, the situation of customers being able to access outside the store is also reflected at some other gold, silver and gemstone business establishments.
Mr. Nguyen Van Dung (Van Mieu, Hanoi) said that when he came to trade silver at a Phu Quy store on Tran Nhan Tong street, he also met a person standing outside asking for a need to buy or sell.
When he knew I needed to sell silver, this person offered to buy it at a price higher than the price the store was collecting and asked me to save his phone number, if he needed to sell later, he would call and they would come to the transaction location" - Mr. Dung said.
According to Mr. Dung, being offered a higher price may attract many customers, but it also raises questions about the origin of the product, inspection methods as well as responsibility when disputes occur.Talking to Lao Dong reporters, Bao Tin Minh Chau media confirmed that recently there has been a situation where some people stand outside the store area, approaching customers to ask about gold buying and selling needs.
Bao Tin Minh Chau has repeatedly issued warnings to customers about buying and selling gold online, transacting with strangers or conducting transactions at addresses of unknown origin, because there may be potential risks related to product quality, gold origin as well as the rights of buyers.
