On August 4, the website of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Russia (KPRF) published a congratulatory message from Party Chairman Gennady Ziuganov.
On behalf of the Central Committee of the KPRF and in his personal capacity, Party Chairman G. Ziuganov congratulated President To Lam on being elected General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, emphasizing that this is the result of many years of effort for the national and people's interests by General Secretary To Lam.
Chairman Ziuganov expressed confidence that under the leadership of General Secretary, President To Lam, the Communist Party of Vietnam, loyal to the teachings of President Ho Chi Minh, will continue to successfully carry out the renovation cause and effectively implement the resolutions of the 13th Congress, which General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong had initiated.
The head of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation also expressed confidence that the brotherly friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties and peoples will continue to develop and be strengthened.
Previously, many Russian newspapers reported that President To Lam was elected General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, emphasizing that the General Secretary was elected with an absolute majority of votes.
On August 3, the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, congratulated President To Lam on being elected General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
On his personal page, the Cuban leader affirmed: “We send our most sincere and warmest congratulations to comrade To Lam, who has been elected General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam. We affirm our steadfast will to continue deepening the good relationship between our two Parties and peoples.”
Official Cuban online newspapers such as Granma - the organ of the Communist Party of Cuba - ACN, Prensa Latina (PL), and Cubadebate all quoted the congratulatory message from the First Secretary, President of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez to General Secretary, President To Lam.
On August 3, President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro congratulated President To Lam on being elected General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
In a message posted on social network X, President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro expressed confidence that General Secretary, President To Lam will continue the legacy of the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, steadfastly facing great challenges in the future for the happiness of the Vietnamese people.
On the same day, the Government of Nicaragua congratulated General Secretary, President To Lam and affirmed its readiness to strengthen traditional and current relations with Vietnam, aiming to build a better, peaceful, and united world, opening a common path of cooperation for humanity based on mutual respect and solidarity.
The statement signed by President of Nicaragua Daniel Ortega and Vice President Rosario Murillo stated: “The Sandinista National Liberation Front, the vanguard force of the Sandinista People's Revolution, shares ideals and values with the Vietnamese communists, and with comrade To Lam, the head of the State, People, and glorious Communist Party of Vietnam.”
Nicaragua expressed admiration for the Communist Party of Vietnam and wished General Secretary, President To Lam and the Vietnamese people many successes.
