This afternoon (September 4), General Phan Van Giang - Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense chaired a meeting with the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) and agencies and units on a number of planning contents.
Attending the conference were Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army. Also attending were members of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Ministers of National Defense.
At the conference, after listening to the report of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army , the delegates discussed, supplemented, clarified and agreed: In the past time, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense have focused on leading and directing agencies and units to effectively implement the planning contents on national defense land, stationing plans; arranging combat works; constructing barracks and dual-use works; planning green tree systems; effectively performing training tasks, combat readiness; preventing natural disasters, search and rescue; being ready to respond to non-traditional security challenges and civil defense tasks.
Party committees and commanders at all levels must overcome all difficulties, strive to deploy and complete tasks well according to plan; carry out ideological, organizational and policy work synchronously and effectively; regularly do a good job of political and ideological education, build political mettle and high determination for cadres and soldiers in performing their tasks.
Concluding the conference, General Phan Van Giang commended and highly appreciated the results and efforts of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army and agencies and units in implementing the planning contents.
The Minister of National Defense requested that in the coming time, agencies and units strictly implement the conclusions, resolutions, decisions and directions of the Politburo, Government, Prime Minister, Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defense on planning work.
Proactively review the national defense land planning system, military stationing plans, combat facilities, barracks construction, dual-use facilities, and green tree system planning.
The competent agencies of the Ministry of National Defense speed up the progress of project appraisal and approval, provide technical guidance, design appraisal, and construction implementation, ensuring absolute safety.
