On November 6, at the headquarters of the Government Inspectorate, Deputy Inspector General of the Government Le Sy Bay chaired a discussion on the Project "Developing applications of population data, identification and electronic authentication to serve national digital transformation in the period 2022 - 2025, vision to 2030" (referred to as Project 06/CP) and the application of electronic identification (VNeID) in performing administrative procedures.
At the seminar, Colonel Vu Van Tan - Deputy Director of the Department of Administrative Police for Social Order, Ministry of Public Security (C06), Secretary of the Working Group implementing Project 06/CP of the Government introduced Project 06/CP and the VNeID application.
According to Colonel Vu Van Tan, the initial successes and results from the National Population Database system and the Citizen Identification Card production, issuance and management system, along with the launch of the VNeID application, are the premise for the Prime Minister to sign and issue Decision No. 06/QD-TTg dated January 6, 2022 approving the Project "Developing population data applications, identification and electronic authentication to serve national digital transformation in the period 2022-2025, with a vision to 2030" with 7 major guiding principles that are consistent throughout the implementation process to deploy 5 groups of utilities.
After nearly 3 years of implementation, 44/76 essential public services have been provided on the National Public Service Portal, saving the state 2,505 billion VND. People can perform services anytime, anywhere, without having to directly contact state agencies, reducing paperwork and travel costs, contributing to limiting "petty corruption".
From July 1, 2024 to present, the Ministry of Public Security has issued more than 4 million ID cards to citizens, of which more than 1.7 million ID cards are for citizens under 6 years old according to the provisions of the Law on ID.
At the same time, providing 12 utilities on the VNeID application with more than 246.3 million visits; an average of 1.5 million visits/day... In particular, the implementation of issuing Judicial Records on VNeID has been well received and highly appreciated by the people with more than 24,000 records.
Speaking at the seminar, Deputy Inspector General of the Government Le Sy Bay requested that departments, offices and units continue to pay more attention to implementing Project 06/CP and promoting the application of VNeID to civil servants, public employees and workers in their agencies as well as themselves and their families.
The Information Center presides over and coordinates with the Central Citizen Reception Committee and relevant departments, offices and units to upgrade the national database on complaints, denunciations and corruption prevention and control to meet newly issued regulations; connect and share data between the National Population Database and the National Database on complaints, denunciations and corruption prevention and control.
