"Eagle" takes over the entire industrial cluster
Song Thao town industrial cluster was established under Decision No. 676/QD-UBND dated March 24, 2016 of Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee, with a total planning area of 45 hectares in Cam Khe town, Cam Khe district.
Regarding location, Song Thao town industrial cluster is located along National Highway 32C along the Red River, about 2.8km from IC10 Intersection of Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway, about 2.3km from Cam Khe Industrial Park; about 7.2km from the inter-regional traffic route connecting Ho Chi Minh road with National Highway 70B, National Highway 32C from Phu Tho province to Yen Bai...
According to the Lao Dong Newspaper reporter's records in mid-November, in the Song Thao town industrial cluster, there is only one garment factory complex in operation of YiDa Vietnam Co., Ltd. (belonging to Crystal Group of Hong Kong, China).
However, this factory complex alone with its facilities: Garment factory, laundry factory, wastewater treatment plant, office area, expert housing area... occupies the entire northern area of Song Thao town industrial cluster (about 40% of the land area of the entire industrial cluster).
Adjacent to the above mentioned garment factory is the construction site of the REGENT Vietnam Textile project. This project has a designed capacity of 98 million m2 of fabric/year; the expected land area used is over 16 hectares; the total investment capital is 4,140 billion VND (equivalent to 180 million USD)... the investor of the project is Crystal Group.
Thus, the "eagle" at Song Thao town industrial park - Crystal Group has had 2 major projects implemented here.
Industrial park with 1 investor has more workers than industrial park with 20 investors.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Doan - (living in Chuong Xa commune, Cam Khe district), a worker at YiDa Vietnam Co., Ltd.: "In Cam Khe district, there are many garment workshops and factories, however, YiDa garment factory has the most workers with more than 5,000 people. Because it is calculated based on output, the income for skilled and experienced garment workers is very high compared to the general level in the district, it can be up to 20 million VND/month".
Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, Mr. Nguyen Huu Chi - Vice Chairman of Cam Khe District People's Committee - said that with the attraction of investment in 2 large projects of Crystal Group, 100% of the land area of Song Thao town industrial cluster has been filled.
According to Mr. Chi, the YiDa garment factory alone has recently recruited about 500 more workers, bringing the total number of workers to about 5,200, more than the total number of workers working in about 20 enterprises in Cam Khe industrial park at the present time.
"With the REGENT Vietnam Textile project under construction in the Song Thao town industrial cluster, a large project, it is expected to create more jobs for workers, increase the value of industrial production and exports for the province... Thereby, increasing revenue for the state budget, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of Cam Khe district in particular, Phu Tho province in general" - Mr. Chi shared.
In Phu Tho province, 27 industrial clusters have been established to date with a total area of over 1,447.6 hectares. Of these, 17 industrial clusters have invested in building technical infrastructure and attracted secondary investors to operate; 2 industrial clusters are investing in building technical infrastructure...
Currently, the occupancy rate of industrial clusters in Phu Tho province is over 55%. The industrial clusters have attracted 175 registered investment projects, including 105 DDI projects with a total registered capital of over VND10,000 billion; 70 FDI projects with a total registered capital of 776 million USD. To date, 129 projects have been put into operation, creating stable jobs for over 27,000 workers with an average income of VND7 million/person/month.
