The Congress also announced the Politburo's decision to appoint 5 Deputy Secretaries of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee for the 2025 - 2030 term, including: Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; Mr. Vo Van Minh - Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council; Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; Ms. Van Thi Bach Tuyet - Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Organization Committee.
Previously, the Congress announced the Politburo's decision to appoint Mr. Tran Luu Quang - Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee for the 2020 - 2025 term to continue to hold the position of Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee for the 2025 - 2030 term.
Mr. Le Quoc Phong, born in 1978, from Hanoi, has a PhD and Master's degree in Chemistry, a Bachelor of Biology, and a senior political theory. He is a member of the 12th and 13th Party Central Committee (invalid); a delegate to the 14th and 15th National Assembly.
The new Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee is a cadre who has matured from the Youth Union work.
Since 2013, Mr. Le Quoc Phong has been a member of the Central Standing Committee of the Youth Union, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association, 8th tenure; at the same time, he holds the position of Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam Youth Union.
In December 2013, at the 4th Conference of the Central Executive Committee of the Youth Union, 10th tenure, he was elected Secretary of the Central Committee of the 10th tenure and President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association, 9th tenure, 2013 - 2018.
In April 2016, he was elected to hold the position of First Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Youth Union, and re-elected in December 2017. In 2018, he was re-elected as President of the Vietnam Youth Union, 7th tenure.
In October 2020, Mr. Le Quoc Phong was elected to hold the position of Secretary of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee, term 2020 - 2025.
