According to information from the Standing Office of the Ministry of Public Security on the UN peacekeeping, on May 19, at the Vietnam Permanent delegation at the United Nations, New York, Lieutenant General Pham The Tung - Deputy Minister of Public Security, Head of the Mission of the Ministry of Public Security - to the United States awarded the decision to promote his rank from Lieutenant Colonel to Colonel (1 year) to Vietnam Police Officer Nguyen Ngoc Hai.
Attending the decision-making ceremony were members of the Ministry of Public Security's working delegation; Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang - Head of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations - and key officials of the delegation.
The leadership of the Ministry of Public Security awarded the decision to promote the rank of jaw before the drought to the officers to perform the mission far away from the Fatherland, showing the attention of the Ministry leaders to the UN peacekeeping activities in general and Mr. Hai in particular. At the same time, through this activity, it also affirms the capacity and qualifications of the Vietnamese police officer with the United Nations and international friends.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Hai also expressed his deep gratitude to the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations for always closely supporting him in performing his duties well during his work at the United Nations.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Hai - Deputy Director of the Institute of Police Science, People's Police Academy is the first Vietnamese police officer admitted to work at the Police Department, United Nations peacekeeping agency, New York (USA) as a United Nations expert on organized crime prevention and control.
After 2 years of performing his duties, from August 2024, Lieutenant Colonel Hai's working time was extended. In January 2025, with his solid ability, he was appointed as a Special Assistant and Chief of the United Nations Police Advisory Office.
This affirms the correct and close direction and direction of the Standing Office of the Ministry of Public Security on United Nations peacekeeping for Vietnamese police officers on duty.
