In the afternoon of 8.2, Member of the Politburo, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the mission worked with the leaders of Quang Nam province on the socio -economic situation in 2024 and January 2025, the implementation of Notice No. 135 (in 2022) of the Government Office and resolved the provincial recommendations and proposals.
Quang Nam economy made a spectacular breakthrough
Reporting to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Mr. Le Van Dung - Chairman of Quang Nam People's Committee, said that in 2024, the province's economy made a spectacular breakthrough, an increase of 7.1% compared to 2023; Production of industrially recovered industry (up 13.5%). The scale of the economy in 2024 reached nearly 129 trillion dong, an increase of more than 16.5 trillion compared to 2023.
By the end of January 2025, the province's public investment was 86.3%. State budget revenue by 2024 reached VND 2.6 trillion, reaching 119% of the estimate and up 10.1% over the same period of 2023.
Attracting investment in 2024 also flourished, the province has issued 29 domestic investment projects with a total registered capital of nearly 5 trillion dong. Foreign direct investment (FDI) has been granted 10 new projects (registered capital of 135 million USD). Up to now, there are 1,157 domestic investment projects with over 227 trillion dong and 201 FDI projects with 6.36 billion USD.
The tourism industry has recovered strongly after Covid-19 epidemic and affirmed its prestigious brand in the international tourism map.
Total visitors and tourist accommodation in 2024 reached more than 8 million visitors, up 14% over the same period and exceeded 6% of the plan. The total social income from tourism is estimated at more than 21.6 trillion dong. This is a record high number for local tourism ever.
Proposing a series of specific mechanisms
At the meeting, Quang Nam proposed the Prime Minister to consider and agree to report to the competent authority to allow Quang Nam to implement the "specific mechanisms and policies for building and developing Quang Nam province".
In particular, focusing on a number of large programs and projects such as: socialization of Chu Lai airport (about 11,000 billion VND, infrastructure investment in the East of the airport); and Quang Nam seaport (about 6400 billion), logistics; piloting non -tariff area in Chu Lai open economic zone; Preserve and promote the value of the world heritage of Hoi An, My Son, the National Monument of Dong Duong Buddha ...
There is also a mechanism to support strategic investors to the province, investors are selected according to the Investment Law and are entitled to priority on customs procedures and tax procedures; developing Chu Lai Open Economic Zone to become a national automobile and multi -purpose support industry center; Implementing the project of developing blue whale mine and central power plants I and II ...
Along with the specific policy mechanism, Quang Nam leaders said - the locality is often affected by natural disasters and floods every year, so the province proposes works in the central central source plan for the period 2026- 2030, such as the project to enhance the flood drainage capacity of Phu Ninh Lake (total estimated investment of VND 1,400 billion); Saline dam dam project on Thu Bon River (about 2,000 billion dong); project to upgrade and expand Highway 40B from North Tra My to Kon Tum province (about VND 1,500 billion); Project upgrading and expanding National Highway 14g section through Quang Nam province (2,000 billion VND) ...
Allow Quang Nam province to enjoy the central budget balance mechanism to implement the national target program on cultural development.
After listening to the report and opinions from the ministries, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh praised and appreciated the results of Quang Nam achieved in 2024.
"In order to achieve a two -digit growth rate in 2025, in the coming time, Quang Nam needs to decentralize thoroughly, improve the enforcement capacity to go hand in hand with enhanced supervision. Doing big, doing any work, not spreading, keeping the principles throughout, steadfast, persistent ” - the Prime Minister emphasized at the meeting.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also agreed with a number of proposals of the province; Agree on the policy of building Chu Lai Logistics Center, investing in upgrading national highways according to the proposal.
