As planned, the 37th session of the National Assembly Standing Committee will take place over 5.5 days (September 12, September 13 morning and September 23-26, 2024).
Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man will deliver the opening speech and, together with the National Assembly Vice Chairmen, take turns chairing the meeting's content.
At this session, the National Assembly Standing Committee will consider and give opinions on many important contents.
In particular, reviewing the National Assembly's report on people's petitions in August 2024; reviewing and approving the Prime Minister's proposal on the appointment of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Review the report of the National Assembly's Thematic Supervision Delegation on "Implementation of policies and laws on real estate market management and social housing development from 2015 to the end of 2023".
Consider the draft Joint Resolution between the National Assembly Standing Committee, the Government, and the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front detailing the organization of meetings with voters by National Assembly deputies.
At the same time, give opinions on the draft Law on Chemicals (amended); On the Government's Report on the implementation of the Constitution, laws, and resolutions of the National Assembly; On the 2024 work reports of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court; and the Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuracy.
Comment on Government reports on crime prevention and control, law enforcement, and anti-corruption work in 2024.
In addition, at this session, the National Assembly Standing Committee will give opinions on the draft Law on Special Consumption Tax; the draft Law on Corporate Income Tax (amended); and the draft Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Advertising.
Draft Law on Employment (amended); Draft Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Health Insurance; Draft Law on Teachers; Draft Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Officers of the Vietnam People's Army; Government report on citizen reception, settlement of administrative complaints and denunciations in 2024.
During this session, the National Assembly Standing Committee will also summarize the 8th extraordinary session and give opinions on preparations for the 8th session of the 15th National Assembly.
Previously, on August 26, based on the provisions of the Constitution and laws, the National Assembly Standing Committee decided to convene the 8th extraordinary session of the 15th National Assembly to consider personnel matters under the authority of the National Assembly.
The 8th extraordinary session of the 15th National Assembly took place in one day (August 26, 2024 at the National Assembly House, Hanoi Capital).
