Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Justice of Laos Khamphan Phommathat and the delegation are visiting and attending the 7th Judicial Conference of provinces sharing an expanded Vietnam - Laos border in Vietnam.
At the reception, General Secretary and President To Lam warmly welcomed and highly appreciated the significance of the visit and working trip to Vietnam by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice of Laos Khamphan Phommathat and the delegation this time.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice of Laos Khamphan Phommathat respectfully thanked and expressed his honor to have the General Secretary and President spend time receiving him; and respectfully conveyed the cordial greetings of Lao General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith to General Secretary and President To Lam and senior leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice of Laos informed General Secretary and President To Lam about the situation of judicial work in Laos in the past time, the organization of the implementation of the Resolution of the 12th National Congress, the results of cooperation between the two Ministries of Justice of Laos and Vietnam in the past time; the key contents that the two sides will discuss at this Conference.
On this occasion, General Secretary and President To Lam shared some information about Vietnam's judicial reform activities recently. Accordingly, the Party and State of Vietnam have paid special attention to the work of building and perfecting the legal system and organizing law enforcement; The Politburo decided to consolidate the Central Steering Committee for perfecting institutions and laws and the Central Steering Committee for Judicial Reform into the Central Steering Committee for perfecting institutions and law enforcement.
Expressing joy at the good development of the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos, General Secretary and President To Lam highly appreciated the results of the visits of senior leaders of the two countries conducted in the past time, including the official visit to Vietnam and participation in the 3rd ASEAN Future Forum of Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone from June 7-9.
Recognizing and praising the positive cooperation results between the two Justice sectors of Vietnam and Laos over the past 40 years, General Secretary and President To Lam requested that in the coming time, the two Ministries of Justice continue to promote good traditions, strengthen mutual support and assistance, closely coordinate, strengthen information exchange and work experience, and jointly improve the legal work capacity of justice officials, and effectively coordinate to implement the assigned agreements between the two Parties and two countries.
Regarding the Justice Conference of provinces sharing Vietnam - Laos border held alternately by the two Ministries of Justice of Vietnam - Laos, General Secretary and President To Lam said that this is a practical cooperation mechanism, contributing to maintaining security, order and promoting socio-economic development in the border area of the two countries, and the Justice sectors of the two countries need to proactively coordinate to thoroughly handle issues arising in the border area.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice of Laos Khamphan Phommathat sincerely thanked Vietnam for its great, timely and effective support and assistance to Laos from the past to the present; and respectfully thanked General Secretary and President To Lam for his directing opinions. He also wished the two sides to strengthen exchanges and share experiences, especially the establishment of the Central Steering Committee for Institutional Improvement and Law Enforcement headed by General Secretary and President To Lam.
On this occasion, General Secretary and President To Lam sent best wishes to General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith and senior leaders of the Lao Party and State, believing that Comrade Khamphan Phommathat's working trip achieved many positive results in Vietnam.
