CIC officially operates credit information connection system with P2P companies

From March 16, 2026, CIC officially operates a credit information connection system with P2P companies to transparentize the market and manage digital financial risks.

The system implementation is carried out according to Decree No. 94/2025/ND-CP dated April 29, 2025 of the Government on the controlled testing mechanism in the banking sector and Decision No. 2970/QD-NHNN dated August 11, 2025 of the State Bank guiding peer-to-peer lending companies (P2P) to connect, report, and check customer credit information (TTTD) with CIC. Up to now, the TTTD connection system with P2P companies has completed the conditions on technology infrastructure, nghiệp vụ procedures and completed connection and technical testing steps, ready to be put into official operation.

In the process of implementation, CIC has proactively built and completed the information technology infrastructure system, ensuring security requirements, and at the same time building synchronous nghiệp vụ processes from account management, data collection, processing and control to providing TTTD reports to participating units. The system allows P2P companies to report and inspect customer TTTD in real time, supporting debt balance control and risk management in lending activities.

As of February 2026, 16 P2P companies have registered for trial connection with CIC, of which 12 companies have completed the trial and have been accepted for connection. This is an important basis for CIC to be ready for official connection when P2P companies are licensed by the State Bank to participate in the testing mechanism according to regulations.

The operation of the system helps expand the scope of collecting and updating credit information data, covering all developing digital financial models. Credit information from peer-to-peer lending activities will be gradually standardized and integrated into the national credit information database, contributing to improving the completeness, transparency and timeliness of data.

At the same time, the system also forms a centralized data source on the loan situation of customers, including information such as outstanding loans, total outstanding loans of customers on all platforms participating in the testing mechanism, detailed information about loan contracts, interest rates, loan status and debt status. This data source helps credit institutions have more basis to assess the financial capacity and risk level of customers, thereby improving the efficiency of credit risk management. In addition, the system also effectively supports the management and supervision of the State Bank of Vietnam for peer-to-peer lending activities within the controlled testing mechanism, contributing to enhancing market transparency, supporting businesses and people to access complete, accurate and reliable credit information sources.

In parallel with that, CIC also issued a basic TTTD product price for customer balance on peer-to-peer lending platforms of 2,500 VND/newspaper, equivalent to the price currently applied to credit institutions. This policy aims to support P2P companies to flexibly exploit information, and at the same time strengthen the ability to control the balance of borrowers according to regulations.

The deployment of the peer-to-peer lending system is also in line with the general orientation on digital transformation of the State Bank in the financial - banking sector, strengthening the application of technology, while ensuring information security, data security and the legitimate rights of participating parties.

In the coming time, CIC will continue to coordinate with units under the State Bank and P2P company to complete the connection process, improve data quality and expand credit information exploitation capabilities. Thereby, contributing to supporting state management, improving the efficiency of risk management of credit institutions and promoting the safe and sustainable development of the digital financial market in Vietnam.
