Through this, Vinhomes Green Paradise realizes the goal of becoming the first megacity in Vietnam to achieve international certification for smart cities, affirming its commitment to sustainable urban development according to global standards.
The certification recognizes Vinhomes Green Paradise's strong progress in the process of developing smart cities according to international standards. According to WCCD, the project is achieving breakthroughs in both design, planning and development orientation. This is an important milestone, creating a premise for the project to aim for full certification after going into operation.
Vinhomes Green Paradise being awarded the Interim ISO 37122 Certification by the World Council on Urban Data (WCCD) according to the Customized Index Set is the result of a comprehensive assessment process carried out by WCCD based on an index framework specifically built for new development projects. This index set inherits the core principles of the ISO 37122 standard - one of the most prestigious international standards for measuring and evaluating the effectiveness of smart city development.
Dr. Patricia McCarney, President and General Director of WCCD and Director of Standardized Urban Metrics (SUM), said: “WCCD's Temporary Custom ISO 37122 certification for Smart Cities is a recognition of Vinhomes' long-term vision and commitment to developing a smart, sustainable and adaptable urban model in the future. The Vinhomes Green Paradise - Can Gio urban project is now equipped with a powerful foundational data system, creating momentum for the development process. This is the basis for annual monitoring and evaluation of goals on smart urban management, infrastructure development, technology application and sustainable development. This also creates an important foundation for the project to achieve the full ISO 37122 certification when officially put into operation. We congratulate Vinhomes on this important certification, marking the first milestone on a global scale, setting a new precedent for new development projects in cities around the world”.
Mr. Chulse Oh, Head of AX Group of Korea Management Association Consultants (KMAC), shared: "The fact that Vinhomes Green Paradise was awarded the Temporary Custom ISO 37122 Certificate by WCCD marks an important milestone in the journey to realize the vision of a world-class smart city in Vietnam. KMAC will continue to accompany the project in the process of developing solutions and strategies for smart city deployment, while completing the criteria of a comprehensive smart city model in the operation phase.
In March 2026, Vinhomes Green Paradise officially launched the smart city certification project with the participation of WCCD, SUM and KMAC. According to the roadmap agreed upon by the parties, the Temporary Adaptive Certificate is the first milestone in the process of evaluating and completing the criteria of the comprehensive smart city model according to international standards.
Vinhomes Green Paradise owns a rare location facing Can Gio sea and adjacent to the Can Gio mangrove biosphere reserve with a scale of 75,000 ha recognized by UNESCO. The project has a scale of 2,870 ha, a construction density of only 16% and is pioneered by Vinhomes to develop according to the ESG++ model, with 5 pillars: Environment - Society - Governance - Regeneration - Climate change adaptation.
When put into operation, the entire urban operating system will be "greened" with the goal of using 100% clean electricity from renewable energy sources and 100% net zero emissions of vehicles. In addition to always absolutely complying with environmental protection standards, the project especially focuses on conserving and regenerating flora and fauna, in parallel with the climate change adaptation strategy of Ho Chi Minh City. The Forest Reforestation and Climate Change Adaptation Fund will also be established to support research, recovery and long-term response activities, focusing on the Can Gio forest restoration and regeneration campaign, contributing to creating a green protection belt for the entire project.
With a pioneering ESG++ vision, Vinhomes Green Paradise has become the first official candidate in the "7 Future Urban Wonders" campaign launched by New7Wonders.
Being awarded the temporary ISO 37122 Certificate for Smart City according to the Custom Index Set further affirms Vinhomes Green Paradise's pioneering vision in developing a smart and sustainable urban model according to international standards, aiming to become a future urban model for the region and the globe.
