Admire and see the development of Vietnamese musical talents
Do you watch the shows “Anh trai say hi” and “Anh trai vu ngan cong gai”? What do you think about the music, content and coverage of these two TV shows?
- It can be said that these are 2 programs that are invested in a methodical, thorough, and quality manner with a cast of artists that are loved by the audience. "Anh trai say hi" has the idol faces of the GenZ audience and a typical Rap style, suitable for the GenZ audience, while "Anh trai vu ngan cong gai" brings together famous artists.
The material of “Anh trai say hi” is dynamic and new, while “Anh trai vu ngan cong gai” is a timeless song, remixed and given a new color. I also really love the artists like Tu Long, Tien Luat, there are male singers close to my age like Dang Khoi, Phan Dinh Tung, talented young faces like Soobin Hoang Son, Cuong Seven...
What do you think about the "phenomenon" HIEUTHUHAI in "Anh trai say hi"?
- I am very impressed with HIEUTHUHAI because of his efforts, passion and will to practice. I believe HIEUTHUHAI will be even more successful. I think long-term development is not only for HIEUTHUHAI or any rapper but also for artists and content creators in general.
As an artist, it is not certain that if you are famous today, you will still be famous many years later. As a true artist, you need to determine a long-term and steadfast path, and know how to "reinvest": You can disappear, but when you come back, you must be stronger.
In your music, we can see two distinct colors: In love, there is sadness, regret, and suffering, but on the contrary, in children's music, there is joy and excitement. So what is the catalyst for you to be able to compose these two colors on a long journey?
- That is my soul and what happened to me. I came to music because of a broken heart. When I wrote songs about family, it was out of gratitude and appreciation for what my parents had given me. When I had children, the purity and loveliness moved me again. In the long run, I have always cherished composing songs with revolutionary sounds, expressing national pride. For me, a good song is not about how much it is worth, but about being preserved, accompanying the nation's milestones in time, the milestones of memories for each listener.
When you wrote your first songs, did you think about becoming famous one day?
- Not really. At that time, I wrote because of passion, because of a broken heart. That was when I finished writing 10 songs, I brought them to class for my friends to listen to, everyone praised them and asked me why I didn't send them to the singer. After that, I called the hotline 1080 to ask for the numbers of singer Nguyen Vu, Mr. Nguyen Phi Hung, Mr. Ly Hai, the group May Trang and Mr. Nguyen Vu was the first person to answer me.
Music is a career
Some comments "remind" musician Nguyen Van Chung that he has not released any new songs recently?
- Maybe because I am quite sensitive, when I read that comment, I also felt sad. Recently, due to family work and emotional imbalance, I have missed many projects. There are things that I continue to maintain, such as just releasing an album about my homeland, paying tribute to the soldiers who have fallen and are protecting my homeland and islands.
I don’t consider being a musician as a job, but rather as a career, spreading good lifestyles to society. I will continue to write songs about different topics such as the struggle and personal growth within each of us. That is the challenge I set for myself and will pursue.
Artists often refer to you as one of the richest musicians in the music industry. So at this time, when composing, do you prioritize copyright issues or other factors?
- I don't put economics as the first factor at the moment. I'm lucky to have had success in the past, so now my life is stable. What I like and want to do is compose about my homeland, honor those who deserve to be honored... to be broadcast on special anniversaries.
Thanks musician!
