The event not only marks the return with a new album but is also considered a major step forward for the streaming platform in the field of live music performance.
According to information from the producer, the program "BTS Comeback Live: ARIRANG" will be exclusively broadcast on Netflix at 8:00 PM on March 21 (Korean time), taking place at Gwanghwamun Square, central Seoul. This will be the first stage for RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook to perform live songs from their fifth studio album called "ARIRANG".
The noteworthy point is that this event is seen by experts as a historical milestone when it became the first live music performance program broadcast globally by Netflix from Korea. Unlike previous pre-recorded content, the live show allows audiences in many countries to watch at the same time, creating a simultaneous experience and increasing interaction for viewers.
A representative of Netflix said that the program aims to turn BTS's comeback into a "global live moment", where fans can share emotions in real time, overcoming geographical and linguistic barriers. This move also shows the ambition of the streaming platform to expand into the field of live entertainment, besides movies, television and reality shows, which have been its strength for a long time.
The live show is directed by famous live production director Hamish Hamilton - the person behind many large-scale events such as the Super Bowl break program, the opening ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics or the stages of Madonna, Beyoncé and Rihanna. Hamilton's participation is expected to help the program achieve international standard image quality and staging, bringing the most realistic concert experience to online audiences.
Not stopping there, Netflix also plans to release the long documentary "BTS: The Return" on March 27. 3. The work follows the group's preparation process for a new album after nearly four years of absence, revealing the behind-the-scenes of composing, recording as well as personal stories during the reunion period.
