On August 11 (US time), Billboard announced the latest Hot 100 chart. Accordingly, BTS's "SWIM" ranked 91st, down 9 places compared to 82nd last week.
Although the ranking is no longer in the leading group, the song still set a remarkable milestone when it has been present on the Hot 100 for the 20th consecutive week. This is the chart of the most popular songs in the US, compiled based on online listening data, radio broadcasts and music sales.
With the new achievement, "SWIM" equals the record for BTS's longest-serving song on the Billboard Hot 100 with "Butter". The hit released in 2021 also has a total of 20 weeks on this chart.
Previously, "SWIM" debuted live at number 1 on the Hot 100 on the chart week of April 4, 2026. After a favorable start, the song maintained its appeal for many months, despite constantly competing with new products from American and international artists.
The milestone of "SWIM" is even more noteworthy when it was set exactly 5 years after the success of "Butter". In 2021, "Butter" held the Hot 100 champion position for a total of 10 weeks, becoming one of the most successful songs in BTS's career.
In addition to the Hot 100, "SWIM" continues to maintain high rankings on Billboard's global charts. This week, the song ranked 4th on Global Excl. U.S. and 12th on Global 200.
Global 200 assesses the popularity of the song based on online listening activity and sales from more than 200 countries and territories, including the United States. Meanwhile, Global Excl. U.S. does not count data in the US market.
The achievements on the two charts show that the appeal of "SWIM" does not only depend on the fan community in the US. After nearly 5 months of release, the song still maintains coverage in many international markets.
In the Artist 100 chart for artists, BTS ranked 38th. This is the 362nd week the group has appeared on the chart, continuing to extend the achievement of one of the most influential Kpop artists in the US music market.
SWIM" is a product marking BTS's long-awaited comeback after the members focused on personal activities and completing military service. The song uses the image of a sea journey as a metaphor for the group's reunion and new journey.
If it continues to be on the Hot 100 next week, "SWIM" will surpass "Butter", becoming the song with the longest standing time of BTS on this chart.
