Storm No. 11 Matmo will make landfall in northern Vietnam from October 6. The strong storm is expected to affect the weather in the provinces of the Northern and North Central regions from the night of October 5. The heaviest rain will be concentrated in the 6 provinces: Quang Ninh, Cao Bang, Lang Son, Thai Nguyen, northern Tuyen Quang and Lao Cai.
A series of provinces and cities such as Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang, Son La, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong... are advising people, service and travel businesses to prepare for natural disasters caused by storm No. 11 Matmo.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Son La province noted that tourism service businesses and accommodation establishments are required to monitor the situation and grasp warning information to promptly respond.
Speaking to Lao Dong, Mr. Tran Xuan Viet, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Son La said: "Tourists in tourist areas, destinations or accommodation establishments will be advised to limit travel, depending on weather developments and warning information. The Department will also closely monitor and coordinate with the authorities of communes and wards to ensure tourism activities take place as safely as possible".
Tuyen Quang officially stopped organizing Thanh Tuyen Night and the 2025 Uncle Ho's Mid-Autumn Festival to focus resources on the work of preventing and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters caused by the circulation of storm No. 10.
The locality is also preparing to deal with natural disasters and potential risks as Typhoon No. 11 Matmo is about to make landfall.

The Hai Phong City Civil Defense Command announced a ban on fishing vessels, tourist boats, and fishing boats going out to sea; tourism and recreation activities in coastal and island areas; fishing, aquaculture, and other activities in river mouths, coastal areas, and offshore from 5:00 p.m. on October 4, 2025.
Hai Phong recommends that communes and wards have plans to ensure the safety of tourists on islands and coastal areas; create conditions and support tourists who have to stay and stay due to storms.
Previously, due to the impact of storm No. 10 Bualoi, many tourist destinations in the North such as Mu Cang Chai, Sa Pa (Lao Cai), Moc Chau (Son La) ... suffered great damage due to floods and landslides. In Moc Chau and Van Ho, floodwaters flowing from hillsides and mountains caused landslides, many roads were flooded.
It is forecasted that on October 5 - 7, 2025, storm No. 11 will directly affect the Gulf of Tonkin, coastal areas and mainland Vietnam, continuing to cause heavy rain in the Northern region and Thanh Hoa, Nghe An. Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha signed Official Dispatch No. 186/CD-TTg dated October 4, 2025 of the Prime Minister requesting ministries, branches and localities to proactively respond to this storm.
Accordingly, the Prime Minister requested the Chairmen of the People's Committees of coastal provinces and cities, especially the area from Quang Ninh to Ninh Binh, to direct the implementation of safety assurance for ships and vehicles operating at sea (instructions for exiting, not entering dangerous areas or returning to shelters).
Ensure safety of activities at sea, on islands, along the coast and inland (especially pay attention to preventing thunderstorms before storms and ensuring the safety of tourism activities in the Gulf).
