With a duration of 100 minutes, "Under the glorious Flag" connects three points of Ba Dinh Square (Hanoi), Ngo Mon Square (Hue) and Thu Thiem Creative Park (Ho Chi Minh City).
Throughout the program, viewers are taken through brilliant golden pages of history, from the autumn of the revolution in 1945 to the stages of resistance war, building and defending the Fatherland in peacetime.
The song's conduit honors the Fatherland and the soldiers of Uncle Ho
Right from the opening minutes, the song "Vietnamam hoa" (Viet Danh, Quang Linh, Suboi) resounded in an artistic space full of epic art, arousing patriotism and heroic spirit.
At each bridge point, MCs take turns leading the audience on a journey to recreate the golden history of the nation. That was the majestic and emotional atmosphere of the autumn of the 1945 Revolution, the September 2nd Independence Declaration Ceremony at Ba Dinh Square. Those were the difficult and arduous months when the South resisted, defeated Dien Bien Phu "famous in five continents, shocked the world", the legendary Truong Son and the great victory in the spring of 1975...
At the Hue bridge, the audience seemed to relive the moment Bao Dai was deposited, the red flag with a yellow star flew on the ancient capital. In Ho Chi Minh City, memories of the Southern uprising, the days when the Southern people's army launched the resistance war against French colonialism were emotionally recalled. The series of scenes, reports and LED images combined with music highlighted the indomitable spirit, revolutionary tradition and sacred values of the Fatherland.
In particular, the atmosphere of the program calmed down when the signal was ringing, everyone turned to the historic Ba Dinh Square to hold the flag-raising ceremony. After the national anthem resounded under the red flag with a yellow star, the audience nationwide was moved when Uncle Ho's voice resounded in the quotation of the immortal Declaration of Independence.
"O people of the whole country! Everyone is born with equal rights... The entire Vietnamese nation is determined to devote all its spirit, strength, life and property to maintain that right of freedom and independence...". That moment seemed to pass through time, fully recreating the heroic spirit and pride of the Vietnamese people on the occasion of the Independence Day - a brilliant mark opening a new era for the country.
Throughout the program, the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers appeared vividly through revolutionary songs that have gone through the years such as "Party Flag", "Doi Ban Vo Quoc Van", "Nam Bo Reguan Phuong", interspersed with new compositions such as "Sea, Land and Sky", "For the People to Forget Us"...
The real-life stories from Mrs. Nguyen Thi Xun - wife of martyr Tran Van Kinh, veteran Nguyen The Nghia, Dam Duy Thien... clearly depict the steadfast spirit, bravery and silent sacrifice of soldiers, from the fierce battlefield to the "guards" in peacetime.
One of the most touching moments was a special exchange of guard in front of President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum at night. No music, only the strong footsteps of the infantrymen, the sweet drops of sweat falling on his steadfast face, as if sworn to die to keep his sleep peaceful.
That image not only reminds us of the tradition of "being filial to the Party, being filial to the People" but also becomes a symbol of respect, perseverance and sacred responsibility.
Aspiration to contribute to the new era
If the first part of the program recreates the flow of history, honors the Fatherland and depicts Uncle Ho's soldiers, the second part opens up a profound political message, towards the present and the future.
Reports, live performances and songs such as "Under the glorious Flag" and "Forgetting oneself for the People" affirm that over the past 80 years, the Party, Fatherland and People have always been the fulcrum for the Vietnam People's Army to fulfill all tasks. And vice versa, the Army is always the support and trust of the Party, the country and the people in all circumstances.
Stories from the ancient battlefield to today's peacetime session all convey the message: the ideal of the revolution is the guiding light. That is the spirit of being ready to take on tasks, commit to the people, for the country, not afraid of hardship or sacrifice.
The love and pride in the Party, the State and the nation of each Vietnamese child arose when listening to General Secretary To Lam affirming: "... The Vietnam People's Army will always be the pride of the heroic Vietnamese nation!". Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang emphasized that, regardless of difficulties or sacrifices in peacetime, soldiers still take on the task of "working their best for the people, for the Fatherland, for the longevity of this country".
The vibrant harmonious melodies in the program's ending sent a message about a strong, united Vietnam, united will and aspiration. From heroic memories to developmental reality, "Under the glorious Flag" affirms the belief in the new journey. That is the journey of today's generation "carrying the future of the country, creating our own future", together with the whole nation entering the era of rising brilliantly under the national flag.
The program is not only a tribute to the fallen generations, but also a call for the younger generation to continue the mission of building and defending the Fatherland, towards a strong and powerful era.
