Based on the best-selling novel by Park Sang Young, “Love in the Big City” is directed by Lee Eon Hee of “The Rookie Detective: The Unstoppable Trio,” “Missing,” “Love in the Big City,” and “Love in the Big City.”
The film explores the unique way of loving when living together between Jae Hee ( Kim Go Eun ) - a free-spirited woman who doesn't care what others think and Heung Soo (Noh Sang Hyun) - a man who is used to being isolated from the world.
Korea Herald commented that, as soon as it was announced, the project received attention because of the participation of Kim Go Eun - an actress who impressed audiences and experts after her role as shaman Hwa Rim in the hit movie "Exhuma" (Exhumation of the Ghost) earlier this year.
The 9X star herself is also extremely excited to transform into Jae Hee - a girl who easily falls in love and is used to receiving love from others.
“This is a project that I have been waiting for quite a while. I received the script two and a half years ago and have been waiting for it to be made, so I was very excited when it was finally made. I decided to join because the script was so interesting. I really liked the dialogue and the way the stories were told in a straightforward, intimate way.”
This is also the reason why the actress is quite confident in the success of “Love in the Big City” when the film is compared to “Exhuma”. Meanwhile, director Lee Eon Hee, although feeling a bit pressured by the popularity of the original novel, still has high expectations.
“From the novel, I especially wanted to take the stories of Jae Hee and Heung Soo and look at the small stories in their lives, from which each person can reflect on themselves. I think I have fulfilled my role in telling the most interesting and fun part of the book. I hope the audience will find the movie version more interesting to watch.”
It is known that “Love in the Big City” has been invited to attend the 49th Toronto International Film Festival, taking place in Toronto, Ontario, Canada (opening from September 5-15). The film will be screened in the Special Screening section here before officially being released to the audience on October 2.
