Regarding the topic of tourism, the keyword “Malaysia Tourism” topped the list, showing that Vietnam is a potential tourist market for this country. According to statistics, there are 164 flights operating between the two countries every week. In the first 10 months of 2024, more than 288,000 Vietnamese tourists visited Malaysia.
In the last month of 2024, the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board also launched many promotional programs to bring convenience, good shopping experience and joy to tourists, especially international visitors to Malaysia.
Notably, apart from “Malaysia Tourism” ranked No. 1 and “Europe Tourism” ranked No. 6, 8 out of 10 remaining destinations are domestic tourism destinations. After Malaysia, the remaining destinations in the top 5 are “Vinh Hy Tourism”, “Hoi An Tourism”, “Con Son Can Tho Tourism” and “Gia Lai Tourism”.
The remaining 4 positions on the list are: "Da Lat Tourism", "Thuy Chau Tourist Area", "Da Nang Tourism" and "Vietnam Tourism".
According to the 2024 Search and Web Browsing Trends Report of Coc Coc browser, historical and war memory tourism is growing. The number of searches for museums has grown strongly.
In 2024, historical and war memory tourism experiences will be widely welcomed by the people. With the parade to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory, the keyword "Dien Bien Phu" has entered the top trending domestic tourist destinations.
Notably, the event of the Vietnam Military History Museum opening to visitors from November 2024 also attracted special attention from domestic and international tourists.
Compared to 2023, the number of searches for the Vietnam Military History Museum has increased by 792%, bringing this keyword into the top search trends for Travel.
In terms of international travel, the search keywords “bali” (Bali, Indonesia) and “thai” (Thailand) are the most searched destinations by users.
The top 10 trending search terms for domestic tourism correspond to the following destinations: Ha Long Bay, Dien Bien Phu, Phu Yen, Ninh Binh, Hoi An ancient town, Hue, Sapa, Phu Quoc, Da Lat and Hanoi.
Search trends for international tourist destinations show that top destinations of interest to tourists are Bali, USA, Thailand, Philippines and Australia.
In addition to international destinations, users tend to be increasingly interested in domestic tourism. The list of hot keywords also reflects the growth potential of the Vietnamese tourism industry as tourist demand increases.
In 2024, Vietnam's tourism industry will welcome 17.5 million international visitors to Vietnam, up 38.9% over the same period in 2023. Domestic visitors are estimated to reach 110 million, up 1.6% over the same period. Total revenue from tourists in 2024 is estimated at VND 840 trillion, up 23.8% over the same period in 2023.
