On September 22nd in Hanoi, the Vietnam National Drama Theatre solemnly held the death anniversary ceremony of the Ancestral Stage of the nation (August 12th lunar calendar), with the participation of generations of artists, those who have worked at the Theater.
Attending the profession ancestor death anniversary ceremony was Mr. Luong Duc Thang - Deputy Director of the Department of Performing Arts (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism).
At the event, veteran artists such as: People's Artist Kim Thu, People's Artist Doan Chau, People's Artist Trung Anh, People's Artist Lan Huong, People's Artist Viet Thang, Meritorious Artist Do Ky, Meritorious Artist Phu Don... and many young actors also attended.
Sharing at the ceremony, Meritorious Artist Kieu Minh Hieu - Director of the Vietnam Drama Theater - said that with the spirit of "drinking water, remembering the source", expressing gratitude to the predecessors who laid the foundation for the Vietnam Drama Theater, the collective of artists and actors of the theater organized incense offering, expressing sincerity and gratitude to previous generations, those who contributed to building and nurturing the art tradition of the unit through periods.
This is also an opportunity for artists to meet, share and add motivation on the creative journey with many good works and plays," Mr. Hieu said.
Sharing with Lao Dong Newspaper, People's Artist Lan Huong expressed her emotion when attending the ancestor's death anniversary ceremony held at the Vietnam Drama Theater - the place she has been attached to for a lifetime of work: "Here, we have many teachers with good expertise, dedicated colleagues. The teachers have taught us how to do the profession, how to perform on stage. If I don't be present on the ancestor's death anniversary every year, I feel very regretful...".
The female artist also said that because she works at the Vietnam Drama Theater, she met and fell in love with her husband Do Ky.
She said: "The stage is still my burning passion. The theater is the reason for me to have a home, a career. We are always grateful and grateful to those who came before us, who worked hard to build the Vietnam Drama Theater.
In a cozy and simple space, generations of artists gathered together, successively offering incense to commemorate the ancestors of the profession, expressing respect for the stage heritage and awareness of preserving and continuing the artistic values passed down.
