Speaking at the ceremony, People's Artist Trinh Thuy Mui - Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Literary and Art Associations, Chairman of the Vietnam Stage Artists Association - affirmed that the 12th day of the 8th lunar month every year is a traditional day for stage artists.
This is an opportunity to express gratitude to ancestors and predecessors who have overcome social prejudices to create unique stage art forms, contributing to enriching national cultural identity; and at the same time express gratitude to the audience who have accompanied, preserved and developed Vietnamese traditional revolutionary stage art.
Clearly recognizing that core value, from 2011, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 13/QD-TTg taking August 12th of the lunar calendar as Vietnamese Theater Day. Since then, this event has become a major festival honoring the country's art scene throughout the country.

The Vietnam Theater Artists Association also successfully organized the 10th National Congress with nearly 700 delegates attending, elected a new Executive Committee and set out directions for the development of theater activities nationwide in the 2026-2031 term.
Sharing with Lao Dong reporters, People's Artist Tran Nhuong said that when he was present at the stage ancestor death anniversary ceremony, he was very touched. He participated in acting in both cinema and television, but his greatest passion is theater.
The Vietnamese theater industry is facing challenges, in recent years the operations of many theaters have faced difficulties because social networks have developed, and audiences have more choices.
I think the transformation of the theater is necessary, wanting audiences to come to the theater depends on many factors. In the digital age, we need to bring technology into works, meet audience tastes, and at the same time preserve traditional cultural identity...", People's Artist Tran Nhuong said.
People's Artist Nguyen Hai shared that the years standing on stage were his most brilliant time.
On stage, he once played the roles of a bandit general, a good person... Each character gives him unforgettable experiences when working in the profession.
