Spooky in love" (Vietnamese title: Chuyện tình ma quái) is a television version remade from the movie "Spellbound" (2011), which starred Son Ye Jin and Lee Min Ki. However, this is not an extended version of the original film but a completely new story.
In this version, Park Eun Bin plays Cheon Yeo Ri - the heir to a hotel who possesses the ability to see ghosts, who gradually develops feelings for prosecutor Ma Gang Wook (Yang Se Jong).
After 2 episodes of screening, the work recorded a positive start when it achieved viewership ratings of 3% and 5.3%, according to Nielsen Korea. According to the film's developments, the story revolving around the main characters gradually becomes interesting as they constantly clash.
The chemistry of the pair of actors born in 1992 is harmonious and cute. However, the cases appearing in the first 2 episodes do not have many new points, the scare element is also in a simple and gentle direction.
Previously, sharing about the work, Park Eun Bin said that adapting a movie into a 12-episode series helps the crew have more space to expand the story, build the world and develop the characters.
The actress added that the character Yeo Ri in the TV version only retains the name, and most of the story and personality are rebuilt. In which, the new detail is that anyone who touches Yeo Ri can see ghosts, creating a premise for the film to exploit more diverse situations than the movie version.
