On November 1, French auction company MILLON postponed the auction of the "Emperor's Compass" gold seal for 10 days so that Vietnam could negotiate directly to buy. At the regular press conference on the afternoon of November 3, Spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang answered questions from the press about the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' plan to repatriate this golden seal.
The Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that in recent days, implementing the direction of the leaders of the Government, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Vietnamese Embassy in France, the Vietnamese Delegation to UNESCO has closely coordinated with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and relevant ministries and branches to discuss with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the French Ministry of Culture, the French Embassy in Vietnam, leaders of UNESCO and the auction organizer to verify information and temporarily suspend the auction.
"On October 31, the Vietnamese Embassy in France informed that the auction had been postponed to November 10" - Ms. Hang informed.
The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also shared: "In the coming time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will direct the Vietnamese Embassy in France and the Vietnamese Delegation to UNESCO to closely coordinate and support the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to seek opportunities and implement necessary measures to bring antiques back to the country".
