In the cultural flow of the Central Highlands, the water wharf worshiping ceremony of the E De people in Dak Lak is a sacred ritual, closely associated with the spiritual life and livelihoods of the community.

Mr. Y Suec Mlo - owner of the water wharf in Dak Lak - said that the highlight of the water wharf worshiping ceremony is the ritual part presided over by the shaman and village elder. In the sacred space by the water wharf, the prayer sends the village's wishes for health, happiness and community cohesion.
According to him, for generations, the E De people have been deeply aware of the role of water resources; the wharf is a source of life that nurtures many generations. Therefore, people preserve and protect the wharf with the belief of being protected by gods, bringing a prosperous life.

Ms. H'Bơn Niê - specialist of the Culture and Social Department of Krông Năng commune - said that the wharf is the "vital artery" of the Ê Đê village, associated with community life, production and life.
According to traditional beliefs, the wharf is governed by gods, bringing favorable weather and good harvests. Therefore, the wharf worshiping ceremony is often held at the beginning of the new year or after the harvest season to thank the water god and pray for a peaceful year.
During the 2026 Lunar New Year, Krong Nang commune and some other localities will organize many activities to preserve and promote the traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities. In which, there is the maintenance of the water wharf worshiping ceremony in villages.
Mr. Le Hong Van - Chairman of Krong Nang Commune People's Committee - said that organizing the water wharf worshiping ceremony during Tet is of great significance in preserving intangible cultural heritage.
