On World Oceans Day 8.6, a beach ranking organization based in the US has announced the annual Global Beach Handbook "Corona Beach 100 Year 2026".
This year's version spans 22 countries and welcomes 27 new beaches, including one beach in Vietnam, chosen based on the beauty of the landscape, beach culture and connection with nature.
This handbook is not simply about exploring the most beautiful beaches in the world but also honoring the natural ecosystems that have created the destination.
Vietnam beach appearing in the list is Soi Sim beach located in the core area of Ha Long Bay, with an area of about 8.7 hectares, about 12 km from Tuan Chau tourist port (Ha Long).
This is a pristine beach in the heart of the World Natural Heritage Ha Long Bay.
The name Soi Sim originates from a unique tree on this island, which is the sim tree, which is grown a lot in the mountains. If you come here in the summer from May to August, visitors will see purple sim flowers blooming all over the hillside.

Not only famous for its sim forest, the island also has a primeval forest with many rich plants and animals with more than 78 plant species and 32 animal species, including many endemic plant species of Ha Long Bay, such as: Phất dụ núi, Bông mộc, Hài vệ nữ hoa vàng...
Soi Sim beach being honored in the nomination list "Corona Beach 100 years 2026" continues to affirm the attractiveness of Quang Ninh tourism in general and Ha Long Bay in particular on the international tourism map; and at the same time shows the effectiveness of the work of preserving and promoting heritage values associated with green and sustainable tourism development.
In Southeast Asia, in addition to Soi Sim beach, there are Alegria, Cloud 9, and Nacpan beaches in the Philippines; Koh Mak island, Railay of Thailand; Padar, Hong Labuan Bajo beach, Indonesia.
