On June 23, Dong Hoa Ward People's Committee said that the ward is organizing the arrest and handling of stray animals.
The Dong Hoa ward animal catching and handling team has conducted patrols on National Highway 1K, North-South 3 road, Chau Thoi Residential Area, Ho Chi Minh City National University, Binh An Residential Area, Chau Thoi road and 30/4 road.
The Dong Hoa ward animal arrest and handling team has arrested 11 stray dogs.
Currently, stray animals have been taken to the temporary detention area at the Dong Hoa Ward Public Service Supply Center. The Ward People's Committee requests livestock owners to urgently contact to provide documents, pay fines, sign commitments and receive back their livestock.

After 48 hours, cases where no one comes to claim will be transferred to the receiving unit for handling according to regulations.
Dong Hoa Ward People's Committee said that in case the dog does not wear a muzzle or is not chained, the owner will be fined from 1 million VND to 2 million VND. Leaving the dog alone in public places may be warned or fined from 500,000 VND to 1 million VND. In case of not vaccinating against rabies, it will be fined from 1-2 million VND.

In Tan Dong Hiep ward, the Ward People's Committee also organized a campaign to handle the situation of stray dogs and cats in the area to strengthen the management of pets, ensure environmental sanitation, urban aesthetics and prevent unsafe risks for people.
In the process of implementation, functional forces of Tan Dong Hiep ward propagate and mobilize households to raise awareness in managing pets. Practice chaining, locking up or keeping dogs and cats in the family's premises. When taking dogs to public places, they must wear muzzles, have rope and have a manager. Implement rabies vaccination fully according to regulations.
